Setting up your intranet using Prism

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Sometimes we prefer to have an icon on our desktop that we click and then our intranet opens. If this is the case then we suggest you download Prism

Prism is a very simple programme that makes a desktop program out of your Sesalos Intranet or Content Management System. The Unisite development team has also committed to making sure that Unisite systems are compatible with Prism.

Here is a quick step by step tutorial to setup Prism for Unisite:

Step 1:

Download Prism from this website

Step 2:

Double click on the downloaded file and you should get a window that displays all the folder contents.

Click on the file named “prism.exe”

Step 3:

You will now have the menu shown below.
Prizm-Settings

URL:
In the  URL section type the address of your Unisite Intranet. (If you are unsure of the address please contact your Unisite supplier).

Name:
Type a name for your icon. IE: “Unisite Intranet”

Please make sure that all the tick boxes are selected, like in the example above.

Step 4

Click OK
We hope this helps in making your Unisite experience more enjoyable.

Is website development stressing you out?

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

57088_working_hardLets face it! Websites are a pain to manage and they end up costing too much in monthly updates fees. This reason alone has made creating client websites a non-profit venture.

This is why Unisite aims to partner with you. Our primary interest is to see you succeed through the Unisite.

The Unisite offers two main features that will give you more value and help you to increase your profit margins when developing websites and company intranets.

The Unisite is a NEW website platform developed locally in Durban South Africa that approaches  web design in a simple modular fashion. The Content Management System allows you to add text, images, file downloads, video, audio, flash and even custom scripts and HTML to each page on the website.

The Unisite allows you to design completely customised websites from the ground up using our intuitive Website Design Interface. No HTML or CSS knowledge is required!

2) Price

If your business falls into our reseller category and therefore you qualify for a 20% kick back for every website you develop with Unisite. Email us to find out if you qualify.

Plus there’s more!

Unisite is a full business software package that includes intranets, project management systems and accounting software.

Why Software as a Service (SaaS)?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

SaaSThe ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) model allows Unisite to provide larger value to the client as we seek to improve our service offering.

SaaS means that Unisite is offered as a service to our clients rather than as a product. Software products have always been a bitter-sweet investment by consumers because they get great value once the product is purchased but the product is out-dated before the shopper even reaches the exit door. This is why software product companies choose to offer ‘ugrade purchases’ to reward those customers who have bought previous versions of the software. Software service, on the other hand, offers much more to the client by taking on the upgrading and updating of software as part of the service. Essentially allowing the client to have the latest version of the software at all times.

Unisite Upgrades it SEO Capability

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is one of the most important internet marketing exercises that needs to take place to see a website succeed. SEO Consulting Firms are now available to the public to gain valuable insight into how to succeed with you SEO objectives.

The developers of The Unisite Business Suite (Sesalos PTY LTD) saw the need to put the control of SEO into the hands of our clients. This is only possible by partnering with the client and educating them on how SEO works, and what the client can do to make a difference on their website.

The challenge has been that there was a fair amount of programming knowledge to change simple and fundamental elements of a website to achieve SEO success. These elements included H1 Headers, Meta Tags, Meta Description, XML Sitemap Generation, Alternative Image Tags etc.

Normally you would need a programmer to make these changes for you and you would be paying that programmer by the hour. Now the Unisite Web Suite makes all of that programming as simple as using Facebook. The best part is that all of this SEO infrastructure is built into the Unisite Web Suite as an Added Value for Unisite clients.

Through the SEO infrastructure you can take personal control over the following SEO elements:

1.    H1 Headers
2.    Per Page Meta Tags
3.    Per Page Meta Descriptions
4.    XML Sitemaps
5.    Page Titles
6.    Image Titles
7.    Image Alt Tags
8.    Google Analytics Code (Google Research of your Website)
